Adventures in the Other-Other Land – Three Children’s Stories: now on Amazon in Print Book and Ebook form, ebook free Dec 11-15, 2019

This is a great book for kids, especially with Christmas coming up. You can get an ebook version for free (Dec 11-15), then buy the print version if you want to give a nice chapter book to a child. It is a children's book but adults who read the book to children will also be amused. Here’s the summary:

This omnibus edition of “The Adventures in the Other-Other Land” allows the reader to follow three cousins at the center of the action, as they travel through the Magic Mirror, which gives them passage to the Other-Other Land, the world of Prince Roland, Princess Pepper and their royal parents. It is a world of magic, intrigue, action, adventure and friendship. They age somewhat over three separate book-length adventures, but remain young enough to partake of the Magic of the Mirror.

While in that realm, they help the royal children and family to overcome the enemies and obstacles that threaten the kingdom and the royal family itself. Among the threats and adventures that they experience are the kidnapping of the princess, a curse laid upon the kingdom that results in a terrible drought, and the capture of the king himself, that culminates in an attempt to usurp the throne. Fortunately, the adventurers can count on assistance from the good people and creatures of the Other-Other Land, as well as facing dangers from the bad.

As we follow the stories, we might note that the sophistication of the text and pictures grows, to go along with the increasing maturity of the boys. In addition, by the end of the third book, it seems that Ben, the eldest, is beginning to pass into adolescence, which will likely shut him off from future participation in the Mirror World.

We don’t know exactly how Roland and Pepper are aging, since times seems to flow differently beyond the Magic Mirror than it does here in our world. Nevertheless, time does seem to pass there, and events take place as time passes, which is, of course, essential to Adventuring.

Therefore, let us enjoy the Adventures even as the three boys, Nathan, Scott and Ben do, as they grow from the age of magical acceptance of younger children, to the more questioning age of approaching adolescence.

The book is available from Amazon in both e-book and print versions. The three separate adventures total about 52,000 words, providing plenty of reading for adventurous young minds, or for a parent to read at bedtime to a child over a number of nights. Book 1 is approximately 10,000 words, Book 2 about 20,000 words, and Book 3 about 22,000 words.
